Fairfly

2024, 80’

Are you ready to meet the story of four white-collar workers employed in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, who are on the verge of losing their jobs?

With an ironic take on the ruthless competition of today’s business world and the culture of start-ups and entrepreneurship, Fairfly brings to the stage four businesspeople whose names may change from one geography to another, but whose story remains the same.
Whether working in the public or private sector, anyone with experience in professional life will recognize a piece of themselves in this play. With a gripping rhythm at its core, the play explores the tension between market economics and human values, unfolding as a dark comedy that examines the obsession with making money, the cult of success, and the discourses of neoliberalism.

“Ultimately, Fairfly is a play that firmly stands on the ground, revealing the impasses of the human world through its characters’ grasping attempts to cope with anxieties about the future. Through a play-within-a-play structure, it delves into the individual worlds of each character, and as we witness how this journey of hope is repeatedly interrupted by despair, we gradually realize the dark narrative surrounding us and the dystopia we are confronted with. This play should be staged; this play should be seen.” Sadık Aslankara, Tiyatro Dergisi

“Don’t miss Fairfly—a production staged with precise calculation, whose high tempo and remarkable performances captivate the audience from beginning to end.” Hande Sönmez, Based Istanbul
