Four-Legged Thing

2015, 50’

An unconventional play that explores the existence and dynamics of relationships between women and men, tracing them back to Adam and Eve through a distinctive and unusual language.

Adam and Eve are always among us…

Ersin Karahaliloğlu, one of the emerging writers of the New Text New Theatre project, joins the GalataPerform repertoire with his debut play Four-Legged Thing. The production is directed by French director Emmanuel Daumas. Karahaliloğlu approaches male–female relationships through an absurd structure and an eccentric language.

A house, a woman, a man, and a table… These four elements form the foundation of Four-Legged Thing. As the woman and the man—unable to understand one another—try to unravel the mystery of a table whose origin is unknown, they find themselves drawn into an unusual existential inquiry. A simple object turns into a mirror of a tangled state of mind; gradually unfolding on stage, it invites the audience to become part of this questioning.
