Transit Poland

2014

As part of the 600th anniversary of Polish–Turkish relations, GalataPerform collaborated with Culture.pl on the project Transit Poland. Within this framework, leading Polish playwrights of the younger generation—Dorota Masłowska, Michał Walczak, and Magda Fertacz—conducted a series of playwriting workshops at GalataPerform.

Emerging writers from Turkey who participated in the workshops had the opportunity to closely engage with contemporary Polish theatre and its current challenges, while also discussing the key issues shaping theatre in Turkey. Guided by the invited playwrights, participants carried out various writing exercises and assignments.

In each workshop, the works of the guest playwrights, along with plays translated into Turkish specifically for the project, were read and collectively discussed.

Play readings presented as part of the project:

Two Poor Romanians Speaking Polish – Dorota Maslowska
